Villa S-Chanf is a 17th-century Engadine house in the centre of S-chanf, where it keeps one of the very few private gardens in the village core. On a plot of 512 m², history, craftsmanship and contemporary architecture meet across approximately 440 m². The house was fully renovated in 2009, and a guest house was added in 2010.

The main residence, of approximately 370 m² and seven rooms, preserves its authentic Engadine architecture: solid stone walls, deep-set windows and noble natural materials, Swiss pine among them. The former barn has become a double-height hall with a central steel fireplace. Around the central Suler, the traditional convivial space, sit the historic Stüva in Swiss pine with its masonry stove, an integrated dining area and a modern stainless-steel kitchen with a breakfast area, the Chamineda.

The master suite occupies the attic, with a large bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe made to measure in Swiss pine. Further bedrooms include one on the ground floor with its own en-suite bathroom. Across the landscaped garden, protected and secluded, the minimalist guest house by the Japanese architects Makoto Takei and Chie Nabeshima (TNA) offers approximately 73 m², 41 m² of them living space, for flexible use.

Two covered garage spaces and two outdoor spaces, dual access, an alarm system and pellet heating, with a connection to district heating possible, complete the property. S-chanf lies in the Upper Engadine, a peaceful village that remains well connected.
